Mixi Csomós and Attila Nagy scored their first absolute victory at Salgó
A huge battle raged between the pair of Miklós Csomós and Attila Nagy and the duo of András Hadik and Krisztián Kertész, and in the end the Csomós won the Salgó Rally with a lead of 15.3 seconds. Jan Kopecky came in third, but he could not intervene in the fight between the two Hungarian pairs.
Frigyesés Turán had a flat tire in the second sprint on Saturday, which put them at a huge disadvantage, falling back to 10th place. The Ádáms of Velencz said goodbye on the tenth speed, but at that point it was already apparent that this battle was two-sided. Csomós and Hadik led alternately, then the Csomós, competing with the previously developed Skoda, gained an 11-second advantage in eighth gear. This also required that the Hadikés failed to use a retarder, for which they received a 10-second penalty. In the end, the 2017 Rally2 champion duo won the last two stages and secured their first race victory.
In the RC4 category, Gergő Szauer from Mohács and his navigator István Kerék started with a Peugeot 208. They battled with the duo of Gábor Német and Tamás Szőke until the fourth speed, then they took the lead and steadily increased their advantage, confidently winning the category with an advantage of 30.5 seconds.
The Hadikés are still in the lead in the league, but the Csomóses have reduced their deficit. Jan Kopecky is in third place.
