(ORB) Ostberg: "All is not lost yet" - They said in the Service Park...
Mads Ostberg started the day energetically, taking two speed victories ahead of Vincze and Turán, and with this he also took the lead in the absolute evaluation. Velenczei achieved a fourth time in Trefortpusztán and a fifth time in Orfű, thus losing the first place. Although all is not lost yet, as there are still three speed stages left, their deficit will be 6 seconds. Vincze confidently holds the third place on the podium.
After the first round, in the Service Park, they said...
"We feel good, we tried to entertain the spectators a little on the sixth speed. We are having a good day, we have no problems with the car either."
"It could have been better. Yesterday, we won the first speed in the opposite direction both times, and now we went wrong, I don't even know why, but I like the way it looks. There was the wider road, Árpádtetó and Hetvehely. We almost missed the start in the seventh place, there was a little shock absorber adjustment, but time passed so much that we looked at the clock and saw that we really had to hurry, so we were tense at the start. We're still not that bad, but we'd love a bit of rain to shake things up here, because if it doesn't, and everything stays the same, I don't think we'll make much progress. We hope that if something happens, such a storm is predicted for 3-4 hours. By the way, I liked the first fast one the best, a narrow forest road, you have to go there at a good pace. I think the car likes that best too."
Ádám Velenczei, Zsolt Vánsza:
"That last one went very well, we couldn't find the rhythm on Terfortpuszta and Árpádtetto, we still have to change that. Now I set the car to last, it was much better for this high-quality stage, we just have to accelerate."
Frigyes Turán, Ágnes Farnadi
"This lap was really good, I think we are starting to learn this new tire. We don't have a lot of experience with the hard Pirelli, and it's a new one, but I think we're getting the hang of it. The car is good, in the last Hetvehely the car knew more than I thought, there were corners where I was a bit timid, but our time was good regardless. I think there is still a lot in it, the car is now very good."
László Martin, Dávid Berendi:
"It's a great experience. It's our first time driving a car like this, but it's really huge. I thought that I would like Árpádtetó the best, because I live quite close to it, but I think I liked this Hetvehely expressway the best, and yesterday it was dark. I think that what we discussed with the team and Dávid works in the competition as well. The car is almost perfect. We still have to get used to some things."
Kristóf Klausz, Botond Csányi:
"We are evolving, trying to get to where we want to be. This morning's lap was a little closer to the left, especially the last two speed laps. We hope that we can improve in the afternoon. I liked Árpádtető and Hetvehely the best, these classics are fast. For some reason, we are still groping a bit in the forest sections, we need to see what the reason is. At most, we soften it a little, but it's just such a small refinement, I don't think we need to pay attention to anything else.
Mihály Matics, Viktória Zejda:
"Basically we're doing pretty well, we're in a big fight with Ariel, three tenths back and forth. Now I got a second on the last lap, I had a change and we're slipping a lot, but obviously they're complaining about that too. If we stay like this, I'll be satisfied."
László Fekete Jr., Tamás Begala:
"We didn't approach this day yesterday, we can't really find the setup for these tracks, even though we tried several, but none of them suit the car or me. We are now experimenting with another one, I trust that we will find the right way in the end."
Péter Osváth, Tamás Papp:
“It didn't go that well actually, I can't find the curves. We missed two races at home, we went abroad for a bit, there are different tracks there, much slower and you have to get used to this crazy pace. We've started to catch up a bit now, but there's still a gap. We didn't put on new tires, but now we'll try to see if it brings something and then the self-confidence will come, maybe we can hold back."
Ollé Sándor, Ollé Rebeka:
"We were waiting to go on the classic track in Orfű, then we had a slow puncture and we circled in every right-hand corner, because the pressure was 1.1 bar at the end. We are sorry, but we really enjoy the Mecsek Rallye. In the end, we caught up with Osvát and Trencsényi, we will have nothing to do with the top, but that's good."
