Frigyes Turán first in 2009 Gábor Zsíros navigation and a Peugeot 307 WRC, then in 2013 with Zoltán Csökő and reached the finish line in Pécs in absolute first place with a Ford Focus RS WRC ’07. Now both the navigator and the car are new - but the pursuit of 100% performance is of course still the same.

"The beginning of the year was interesting for us, because there is a personnel change in the team. my navigator, Laci Bagaméri he hung the helmet on a nail for this year, so I had to find a solution for that. My choice Ági Farnadi fell, with whom we already had a successful year in 2017," the pilot explains the reason for the change.

"Looking at our pace, we started the season well, but a puncture on a stage in Salgótarján sealed the outcome of the race and we only finished in fifth place. In comparison, the Boldogkő Rally turned out to be even more unfortunate, where the beginning was full of excitement, until, unfortunately, we didn't even reach the finish line. But we got rid of these problems and finished third in the third race, the Danube Bend Rally, which of course could have been better. On the first day, we won two of the four speed stages, and we finished on the podium in the other two as well with the Polo, but due to a time penalty and a technical fault the next day, we suffered too much of a disadvantage," Frigyes Turán briefly evaluated their performance so far this year.

"But what is certain is that we are competitive, we have the potential to achieve a good ranking. In Mecse, the standard of the championship requires us to perform 100 percent from the first corner to the last meters, this is also our plan. I really like the tracks, I have good memories here, it will be nice to come back. I am also very happy that it was placed earlier in the competition calendar, since until now the date of the competition was closer to winter.

Based on the plans and promises of the directors, we can expect a good atmosphere for both the spectators and the competitors, one that everyone can like. And I'm confident that we'll be able to drive well," said the two-time Pécs champion as well as the chances.
