Friday evening reports from the Historic field
Lucio Da Zanche-Matteo Nobili (Porsche Carrera SC RS): The rain surprised us a bit, we didn't miss it at all! But circumstances changed for everyone, and I think we did well despite that. However, the windshield was very foggy, we could hardly see anything. We hope for better weather tomorrow, we will go full throttle!
"Zippo"-Denis Piceno (Audi Quattro): We went quite slowly, the road was very muddy and wet. I feel like the real competition starts tomorrow. Based on today's performance, I think we will do very well. Everything went well today, and tomorrow we will give it our all.
Karl Wagner-Gerda Zauner (Porsche 911): In the first speed section, the engine did not work properly, there was a problem with the ignition. We lost quite a few seconds on the fast track, but in comparison we are second, which is a good result. The second fast went much better because there was no problem with the engine and the right tires were on. Let's hope we do better tomorrow!
Vojtech Stajf-Vladimir Zelinka (Opel Kadett GT/E): For three days we were on the tracks in great heat, but today before the start it rained heavily. We put the wet tires on, but it was complicated by the fact that we lost one of the wiper blades before the first stage. Regardless, we performed flawlessly. On the second stage, it was raining, there was 2-3 centimeters of water on the road, so we drove with restraint so that the car wouldn't float.Johnsen and I are very close, but they have a stronger car, so we expect a big battle tomorrow.
Ferenc Wirtmann- József Kerekes (Ford Escort RS): So far, everything was fine, we expected the rain, even before the start we put on wet tires. We are leading by quite a lot in the Hungarian Championship and in the Mitropa Cup, I hope we can continue in the same way tomorrow.
