Ranga Rally Team: memory and competition

How are you preparing for this year's Mecsek Rallye?

Péter Ranga: I will also start with Ernő Büki, but this year "only" as a runner-up. This year marks the 20th anniversary of our father's death, so to commemorate this, we will start with a GC8 Subaru Impreza, which was father's last racing car, isn't it? This decoration will be like that of the racing car, only the technology will be different, this is a semi-street car.

How did it feel to miss the competition last year, so you couldn't start?

László Ranga: It was bad, because we had planned it, and this is exactly the competition that the virus situation endured. However, this year's will make up for everyone, as I can see the organizers put a lot of effort into themselves this year, so I think it will be the best competition of the season.

RP: We were very sorry, since we have had the Mecsek Rally for as long as we can remember, so we felt a great sense of loss.

What does the Mecsek Rally mean to you?

RL: The rally itself. Since this is our home race, we look forward to it the most every year, and when it's over, we look forward to the next one. For us, with the other races, it's just time to get to the next Mecsek Rallye.

What result do you expect with the Peugeot 208 Rally4?

RL: Even I am curious about this now that a year has passed. One thing is for sure: we definitely want to be on the podium - this is the minimum at home. But if there is a way, we want to rise to the top.
