There will not only be a rally during the Mecsek Rallye
The start ceremony on Széchenyi Square provides a unique spectacle in itself, but fans will also find other entertainment options at the ceremonial opening of the 54th Mecsek Rallye.
A local band will perform on the stage set up in the main square. We talked to Made In B, a representative of the Hip-Hop&Pop music band, after their first concert of the year in Villány.
„We have existed in this line-up since 2016. The band consists of three members, Lejla Horváth, my younger brother Bertalan Szentgyörgyváry and me" Balázs Szentgyörgyváry begins the introduction of the band. "I write the music and arrange it, and the three of us write the lyrics together. By now we've gotten to the point where we only play our own songs."
„It is very important for us to have a good atmosphere at our concerts. Our goal is that during this time, our audience can ignore everyday problems and have a cloudless party. Our lyrics also carry positive thoughts."
It will be the first time in the band's life to perform at the Mecsek Rallye, since they have never played at a car race or an international event.
"We have not known the world of car racing until now. We all have a driver's license, but we haven't been to a race yet. Of course, we have already heard about the Mecsek Rally, as it is an iconic event of the region. We have already talked about it with the others, that we will definitely take the opportunity, and if we are already this close to the competition, then we will watch them live on the pitches in Mesek."
Balázs Szentgyörgyváry could not say whether the veteran racing cars of the EHRC or the modern vehicles of the Ob field are closer to their hearts, so they will be able to answer this question after the 54th Mecsek Rallye.
Not only adults, but also smaller ones can find a program for themselves if they want to experience speed, albeit "only" on a fixed track. On the Zuggo Ládavasút, children can slide down the 16-meter-long sloping track while sitting in a wooden crate, with a real mini roller coaster experience.
In addition to the field of the 54th Mecsek Rallye, there will also be a racing car exhibition on Széchenyi Square, and two! For two days, the "Eastern Stars of Rally" collection awaits those interested with real and working racing cars, which are still used by their owners for racing today, and which forty years ago were defining elements of the rally sport in our region.
On Saturday, mountain racing cars will also join the stars of the east, thus another discipline that also has a serious tradition in Mecse will be visible.
