22 competitors submitted their entries for the third race of the Historic Eb, the 54th Mecsek Rallye. The number of entrants is a record in the history of the Historic European Championship races in Mecsek, even if no more couples submitted their entries during the extended entry period.

The category leaders are on the entry list. In each category, two competitors started in the season, both of them are coming to the Mecsek Rally. Antonio Parisi leads with 35 points, Carlo Fiorito has 16 points.

In the second category, the field is more crowded and the fight is tighter. Anders Johnsen leads with 34 points, followed by Ernie Graham with seven points. László Mekler is third with 26 points, and Paolo Pasutti, who is fourth, also has 25 points. All four competitors will be here at the Mecsek Rally, a big battle is expected between them.

In the triple category, Zippo is in the lead with two race wins, followed by Karl Wagner in fourth place with 16 points, but this time the standings of the championship do not reflect how fierce the two are rivals. Even now, it will be worth watching the duel between the two, if only because they have the best chance for absolute first place.

In category four, Daniel Alonso Villaron leads the championship, the Spaniard competing with a Ford Sierra has 38 points. Alfons Nothdurfter is second with 29 points, he also starts with a Sierra, while the third is Finnish Ville Silvasti, who also has 29 points, he is fighting with an Audi against the two Fords.

Among the Hungarians, in addition to the already mentioned couple László Mekler - Edit Mekler-Mikó, Péter Magoss - László Rónay, who started in the colors of Herczig Autósport, entered the EHRC field. The Meklers compete with the usual Alfa Romeo GTAM 1750 with start number H10, the Magosses start with a Subaru Legacy and have been given start number H16.
