As part of a cool side event, we will participate in the Mecsek Rallye, specifically in the Zwei Takt Memory, which has been around for three years. The atmosphere here is friendly; we help each other and cheer for one another to reach the finish line. We\u2019re thrilled that Mark\u00f3 Tibi and I brought this event to life\u2014our thanks go out to him! We truly love this iconic race, not only us but also a significant part of the field considers it a local competition in the Mecsek region. We hope to elevate the event\u2019s quality!<\/p>

In this category, spectators will see seven driver and copilot pairs, and without any bias, I can confidently say that the country\u2019s best Trabant drivers have come together. We\u2019re a tight-knit group with friendships spanning two decades. Everyone is preparing diligently and taking the challenge seriously. Of course, we\u2019re not engaging in cutthroat competition during the race; our goal is to enjoy ourselves, entertain the audience, and cross the finish line.<\/p>

Generally, driving the Trabant is most enjoyable on downhill sections because uphill climbs aren\u2019t the category\u2019s strong suit due to the small engines and performance. The narrow, winding tracks suit the Trabant well\u2014not the ones requiring high top speeds. For example, the P\u00e9csv\u00e1radi or Trefortpuszta stages, as well as \u00c1rp\u00e1dtet\u0151, are enjoyable even in a Trabant. These iconic tracks each have their own beauty, and we\u2019re eagerly looking forward to them!<\/p>

The cars will be on display at Sz\u00e9chenyi Square on Friday morning, allowing anyone to see them up close. For older folks, it\u2019s a bit of nostalgia, while for the younger generation, it\u2019s an interesting experience.<\/p>

As for my background, I started racing in 2001 and actively participated in the Trabant championship until 2007. Since then, I\u2019ve been a hobby racer. I\u2019ve explored other car types, but the Trabant remains my true love.<\/p>

We\u2019re considering adding these cars to the Historic category, as they\u2019re resurfacing from various parts of the country and being restored to competitive condition. In this category, we\u2019ll compete alongside fellow drivers we battled against in the early 2000s. In fact, one of our colleagues rebuilt a race car after 17 years specifically for this category and will join the competition.<\/p>

Whenever there\u2019s a large group in our category, it\u2019s a special occasion.
