While the front of the field is already running at the 2nd, long-week fast, the second half stalled at Trefortpuszta. According to the currently short, factual indication, the double Toyota Celica of Dezcallar and Fluxa Sureda fell into the ditch 3.7 kilometers after the start, thus they became the first to retire from the race due to an accident.

The race could start again after 20 minutes.

According to the latest medical report, the Portuguese pilot of the pair was not injured in the accident. However, his navigator was seriously injured: two of his vertebrae and three ribs were broken, and severe edema developed in his eyes. Despite this, they are planning to transport him home, but this would only be possible with an ambulance equipped with a special vacuum bed or an airplane, if the doctors agree.
