Ferenc Vincze „Gurulgatunk. Kicsit melegszik az idő, mi közepes gumival megyünk, ami
kicsit el-elfogyogat a gyorsasági szakaszok végére, de ez természetes. Nagyon nagy
különbséget nem éreztem az első körhöz képest, próbáltam beosztani a dolgokat. Úgy érzem,
nem kockáztatunk feleslegesen. Az előző körben megütöttünk egy felnit, azt cserélni kellett,
azt a kátyút kerestem Mocsoládon, ahol ez történt, hogy bele ne menjek még egyszer. Ez
kicsit kivett a ritmusból, de összességében jól vagyunk. Úgy érzem, a power stage-et nem
fogjuk megnyerni, mert egyre melegebb lesz, de majd meglátjuk.”
Bútor Róbert: „Minden rendben van. Picit finomabbak a mozdulatok, picit gyorsultunk,
nagyon jól érzem magam az autóban, egyre tisztábbak a gyorsaságik. Látszik, hogy gyűlnek a
kilométerek, és egyre jobb az élmény, de biztos még nagyon sok van benne. Ennyi esik jól,
bőven jó nekünk ez így. A power stage-en szeretnék ugyanilyen jól autózni, nem készülök rá
egyáltalán.”
Zsiros Gábor (László Martin navigátora): „Próbálunk hárítgatni, de nem sok tapasztalatunk
van ezzel az autóval. Próbáljuk a legjobb beállítást megtalálni, némelyik gyorsaságin egész
jól beletalálunk és meg tudjuk verni a Robit, máshol meg úgy érezzük, hogy jól megyünk az
előző körhöz képest, de a többiek begyorsulnak. Árpádtetőn a hatodik időt értük el nagy
tempóval. Megpróbálunk visszajönni a második helyre, az szimpatikusabb. Matekolunk
Pistikével, hogyan tudnánk még gyorsulni.”
Bodolai László: „Titkon reméltük, hogy kicsit meg tudunk lépni egy picit, de csak két-három
másodpercben gondolkodtunk. Mi négyen nagyon szorosan megyünk együtt, de ez tök jó,
ezért jöttünk, ez az igazi verseny. Abban reménykedünk, hogy a powert meg tudjuk húzni.”
Addig a két gyorsot le kell, hogy hozzuk.”
Kovács Antal: „A defekt miatt már annyira hátraestünk, hogy már csak just for fun autózunk.
Orfűnél a vége felé nagy kanyarok vannak jó sok emberrel, ott kicsit adtunk az élvezetnek.
Még van egy kör, azért megyünk, hogy élvezzük.”
Here’s how the competitors saw Saturday’s second round
Ferenc Vincze: “We’re cruising along. It’s getting a little warmer, and we’re running on
medium tires, which wear down a bit by the end of the special stages, but that’s to be
expected. I didn’t feel much of a difference compared to the first round; I tried to pace myself.
I feel like we’re not taking any unnecessary risks. In the previous lap, we hit a rim and had to
replace it; I was looking for that pothole in Mocsolád where it happened so I wouldn’t hit it
again. That threw me off my rhythm a bit, but overall we’re doing well. I don’t think we’ll
win the power stage because it’s getting hotter, but we’ll see.”
Róbert Bútor: “Everything’s going well. Our movements are a bit smoother, we’ve picked
up a bit of speed, I feel great in the car, and our fast sections are getting cleaner and cleaner.
You can tell the miles are adding up and the experience is getting better, but I’m sure there’s
still a lot more to come. This is going well enough; it’s more than good enough for us as it is.
I want to drive just as well in the power stage; I’m not preparing for it at all.”
Gábor Zsiros (Martin László’s co-driver): “We’re trying to keep up, but we don’t have
much experience with this car. We’re trying to find the best setup; on some stages we’re
hitting it just right and can beat Robi, while on others we feel like we’re doing well compared
to the previous lap, but the others are picking up speed. At Árpádtető we clocked the sixth-
fastest time at high speed. We’re trying to get back to second place; that feels better. We’re
figuring out with Pistike how we can pick up even more speed.”
László Bodolai: “We were secretly hoping we could pull ahead a little, but we were only
thinking in terms of two or three seconds. The four of us are running very close together, but
that’s great—that’s why we came; this is what real competition is all about. We’re hoping we
can maintain our pace. Until then, we have to get through those two sprints.”
Antal Kovács: “We fell so far behind because of the flat tire that we’re just driving for fun
now. Near Orfű, toward the end, there are some big turns with lots of people, so we let loose a
bit there. We still have one lap left, so we’re going to enjoy it.”
