The Austrians Karl Wagner and Gerda Zauner are returning pilots of the 3rd category, boasting successes in Pécs as well. With the Porsche 911, they already have two Mecsek trophies.

"If I remember correctly, we won the overall rating at the Mecsek Rallye in 2013 and 2014, and we can't wait to start here again. I love Mecsek, it's a beautiful rally and it's always good to drive on Hungarian roads.

As usual, I want to win. I am coming with my Porsche 911, with which we have been competing in the European Championship for years, as well as this year, in category 3. Some sections are very bumpy and not of the best quality, and some are specifically for rallying, it's a mixed terrain. This year there will be some new stages for everyone, so it will be a good experience for everyone. Last year the race was later, and now it will be sunny throughout, which is very good, we prefer sunny conditions to wet conditions.”
