The 54th Mecsek Rally became the Race of the Year!

This is not the first time that has happened, but it still fills the entire organizing and organizing team with joy and pride, as well as the fact that in 2021 the 54th Mecsek Rally won the title of the Race of the Year from the Hungarian rally races.

The Rally Section of the Hungarian National Motorsport Association – postponed from December to January 8 due to the pandemic – held its traditional year-end awards gala on Saturday. During the ceremony held at the BOK Sports Hall, exceptional young talents, routine champions and sports icons were awarded – in addition, the CEO of PSN Zrt., János Máté, received the Competition of the Year trophy on behalf of the organizing committee of the Mecsek Rally.

After the pandemic-hit series of recent years, rally society was able to celebrate together again on January 8; but at the awards ceremony, in addition to moments of joy, the representatives of the association also commemorated the professionals who had died in the last few days and years, such as István Jelen, who has been greeting the Mecsek Rally at a high level for almost three decades, and the 54th Mecsek Rally chief organizer Miklós Bernáth.

– In an extremely difficult time, everyone had to organize their own competitions, as in the situation due to the pandemic, both the competitors and the organizers had to deal with hitherto unknown challenges. It is a great pleasure for me that the Hungarian National Motorsport Association also recognized our work, as we received very positive feedback from the competitors and the international association, and we performed the tasks entrusted to us in a motivated and responsible manner. With the departure of István Jelen and Miklós Bernáth, we have suffered an irreparable and irreparable loss, and I would like to offer this great recognition to their memory, said János Máté, CEO of PSN Zrt.
